Pieter Bruegel the Elder paintings

Pieter Bruegel the Elder is a 16th-century Dutch painter. He was the father of Pieter Brueghel the Younger, known as the Infernal, and Johannes Brueghel, known as the Velvet. Both sons inherited their father's talent and also became famous painters. He painted with oil paints on board. He was not a very prolific painter. He may have created more works, but he is credited with authorship of 45 paintings. Pieter Bruegel was nicknamed the Peasant because the main subject of his paintings is the life of peasants, simple people. This was also because Bruegel's painting style was rather uncomplicated, although it surprises with its meticulousness.
